Established in 2016
Street Sounds Productions started as a small idea and sprouted to so much more. Street Sounds works with students in the San Francisco/Bay area, the nation and abroad. They have also held a number of festivals, youth arts and music programming and live concertsin effort to bring joy to the neighborhood during challenging times.
Meet the CEO
Originally from Southampton, Long Island in New York, Street has performed with large and small gospel concert choirs, and bands across the U.S. since the age of 16. He holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Music Theory and Performance.
Christopher Street has dedicated many years as a youth arts advocate and educator. He has worked with varied neighborhood youth programs for over two decades. Serving as an Elementary & Secondary School Paraprofessional/Behavioral Specialist and Instructional Aide within the San Francisco Unified School District (2011-2022). An artist in residence at the Ruth Williams Opera House in the Bayview Hunters Point Neighborhood of San Francisco (2022). He was the Prep Choral Levels 1 & 2 Director as well as Training Chorus Director at the Ruth Williams Opera House, Bayview Hunters Point YMCA and Kanbar Center for the Arts for the San Francisco Girls Chorus Campus’ (2019-2022) and he is currently entering his fifteenth year as a resident lead teaching artist and composer with the San Francisco Opera.
In his work, Street aims to facilitate students’ motivation in accessing their inner strengths and abilities through project-based activities that truly inspire them. Street specializes in providing a socially emotional trauma informed, culturally, stimulating, hands-on learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages scholars, to reach their fullest potential.
