Established in 2016
Street Sounds Productions began as a modest concept and has since flourished into a vibrant organization. Operating in the San Francisco Bay Area, across the nation, and internationally, Street Sounds collaborates with students of all backgrounds. In addition to hosting a variety of festivals, youth arts and music programs, and live concerts, Street Sounds strives to spread joy within the community, particularly during difficult moments.
Meet the CEO
Originally hailing from Southampton, Long Island in New York, Christopher Street has been a performer with concert choirs and bands of varying sizes and genre across the United States since the age of 16. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Theory and Choral Performance.
Street has dedicated his career to advocating for youth arts and education. He has worked with diverse youth programs in neighborhoods for over twenty years, serving as an Elementary & Secondary School Paraprofessional/Behavioral Specialist and Instructional Aide in the San Francisco Unified School District (2011-2022). He also served as an artist in residence at the Ruth Williams Opera House in the Bayview Hunters Point Neighborhood of San Francisco (2022). Street held roles as the Prep Choral Levels 1 & 2 Director and Training Chorus Director at various organizations such as the Ruth Williams Opera House, Bayview Hunters Point YMCA, Kanbar Center for the Arts, and San Francisco Girls Chorus Campus (2019-2022). He is currently in his fifteenth year as a resident lead teaching artist and composer with the San Francisco Opera.
Through his work, Street aims to empower students to tap into their inner strengths and talents through engaging, project-based activities. He specializes in creating a socially-emotionally responsive, culturally rich, hands-on learning environment that nurtures students' confidence and pushes them towards achieving their full potential.
